All bar toolsThe story of the Clover Club
The Clover Club hails from Philadelphia and is named after a gentlemen’s club of journalists, lawyers and businessmen that met at the Bellevue-Stratford Hotel from the 1880s on. Before Prohibition, this pink gin sour with egg white was hugely popular, then it faded from view for decades. Today it is a celebrated classic again – in 2008 a Brooklyn bar even opened under its name.
