All bar toolsThe story of the Rusty Nail
The Rusty Nail pairs Scotch with Drambuie, a whisky-based honey and herb liqueur whose recipe, legend has it, came from Bonnie Prince Charlie. Similar mixes existed under other names as early as the 1930s, but the drink became popular as the Rusty Nail in the 1960s – reportedly at New York’s 21 Club. It is said to have been a favorite of Frank Sinatra’s Rat Pack.
