All bar toolsThe story of the Cosmopolitan
The origin of the Cosmopolitan is disputed. Similar mixes existed earlier, but key milestones are usually placed in mid-1980s Miami Beach and shortly afterwards in New York, where bartenders refined the recipe with citrus vodka and fresh lime.
In the late 1990s, the TV series “Sex and the City” turned the Cosmopolitan into a cult drink.
